Amendments to towing regulations in Ontario
As of July 1, 2026 Ontario amended a regulation under the Towing and Storage Safety and Enforcement Act to strengthen qualifications for tow operators and drivers, clarify photo taking at towing scenes, and require tow truck markings that display operator names and certificate numbers. The government is also freezing certificate fees for tow operators, tow truck drivers, and vehicle storage operators until 2027.
