Board statement on shelter location, legal settlement, and request for Right of First Refusal
On June 16 the Sarnia and District Humane Society board explained why permanent land ownership matters and described a 1 million dollar legal settlement tied to the Wellington Street property. The board is asking Mayor and City Council to grant a Right of First Refusal for the adjacent parcel and is asking supporters to contact council before the June 22 meeting.

Save Timmy bail fundraiser
The Sarnia & District Humane Society is running the Save Timmy bail fundraiser to get Timmy the T Rex out of the shelter by the end of June. Every $10 donated earns a raffle ticket for a prize package that includes a $100 Gas card from Insight Tattoo and gift cards from local eateries, and donations go via e transfer to accounts@sdhumane.ca with "Save Timmy" in the notes.

Dusty from Ironworks Health and Wellness Centre is running a Community Food Drive throughout June to support the Inn of the Good Shepherd in Sarnia-Lambton. The drive accepts non perishable food items and hygiene products, and Dusty and his team will pick up donations from your doorstep to make contributing simple.

The Centre is running a two evening Summer Volunteer Training on Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14 from 5 to 7 PM, covering gender based violence and human trafficking.
