Literacy Lambton received cash and new children's book donations from the Southwest Optimist Convention and local Optimist Clubs to help stock this years holiday Give a Book campaign in London, Ontario. Last year the charity distributed 4,800 new books to babies through teens via 42 frontline community partners.

Ruby’s Treats and Navelli’s European Delicatessen, along with their customers, have helped raise over $10,000 for the Sarnia & District Humane Society since May 2021. The organization published a thank you message on August 24, 2026 celebrating this ongoing local support for animals in their care.

Donation drop-off hours and handling reminder
Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton asks donors to bring items only during posted drop-off hours, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Items left outside after hours were soaked and had to be discarded, which increases waste removal costs and reduces funds available for building affordable local homes.

End of Summer Bash
Black Gold Brewery hosts the End of Summer Bash on Saturday, August 29 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at 395 Fletcher St., Petrolia, with $1 from every beer sold donated to Lambton County Developmental Services. Expect live music, food vendors, and a community focused evening supporting people with developmental disabilities.

Train Your Brain fundraising & fall program registration
Literacy Lambton is running the Train Your Brain fundraiser supported by the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia-Lambton Golden K, raising funds through volunteering at Sarnia Jackpot Time bingo to support reading and math programs for Grade 3 and Grade 4 students.
