LCDS & Petrolia Lions Fish Fry
LCDS and the Petrolia Lions Club are hosting a fish fry fundraiser on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 451 Huggard St in Petrolia. Tickets are $25 each, available online or by calling Magda at the LCDS Admin office, with all proceeds supporting Lambton County Developmental Services programs for adults with developmental disabilities.

Catch the Ace 2026 return — event logistics & promotions
Sarnia Legion Branch 62 holds the Canadian Catch the Ace record with a $4,511,971.50 jackpot in 2026, and Catch the Ace returns this fall with $25,000 seed money and participation across all Legions in RCL zone A4. The campaign includes a county wide ticket rollout, a special "legion tour" shirt for players who visit every legion, and scheduled volunteer and donation events on Sept 24, Oct 27, and Oct 29.

Alternative proposal for Antwerp container capacity (Bevrijdingsdok)
Katoen Natie Canada proposes redeveloping a 220 hectare site around the Bevrijdingsdok to add 9 million TEU per year, using a 4.4 km quay and existing transport links. The company says this alternative can be realized immediately and could save the government at least 8 billion euros compared with the Tweede Getijdendok plan which is provisionally scheduled for 2030.
