The Book Keeper will donate its profits on Truth and Reconciliation Day, September 30, 2026, to The Three Fires Ezhignowenmindwaa Women's Shelter in Bkejwanong First Nation. Attend local events to show support and use resources from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and the Orange Shirt Society to learn more about the ongoing impacts of Indian Residential Schools.

LCDS & Petrolia Lions Fish Fry
LCDS and the Petrolia Lions Club are hosting a fish fry fundraiser on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 451 Huggard St in Petrolia. Tickets are $25 each, available online or by calling Magda at the LCDS Admin office, with all proceeds supporting Lambton County Developmental Services programs for adults with developmental disabilities.

The Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton needs volunteers for a fundraising weekend at Centennial Park on October 2 and October 3, 2026. Volunteers will staff a weekend of music, Bavarian inspired food, drinks, and family activities; sign up at the provided SignupGenius link and note that closed toe shoes are required.

Sarnia Organ Donor Awareness and Sarnia Scare Grams are collecting gently used children costumes for Ellaween, with drop-offs at five Sarnia locations through Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Bring clean, wearable costumes to any listed site so more local kids can enjoy trick or treating without the cost burden; full details are posted in the event Facebook group.
